Age 4-12 yrs. old GIRLS & BOYS (athlete must be 12 or under on Dec. 31, 2026).

We have an opportunity for a middle school division for ages 13 and 14. Please register with DJ Saddler in person.

Registration  Sept 10 - Oct 22

Season  October through January

Cost $135

Sibling Discount:  $10.00

Equipment- Athletes will need to purchase their own wrestling shoes and headgear. 

Practices Beginners Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6 to 7

Advanced Monday and Fridays from 6 to 8 and Wednesday from 7 to 8:30

Girls ONLY Tuesday and Thursday from 7:10 to 8:10  

Tournaments Every weekend starting Oct 24

26-27 Basketball Scholarship - Winter 2026

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR REQUEST

SPYA offers a limited number of partial and full scholarships each season for students attending Franklin Pierce School District schools.

Scholarships are limited and not guaranteed. Awards are based on financial need and available funding. Submitting a request does not guarantee approval.

• A FULL description of your financial need is required. Without enough information, we cannot process your request.

• Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, available funding, and the number of applications received.

• To provide opportunities for more families, SPYA may limit the number of scholarships a family can receive during a calendar year. Receiving assistance for one sport does not guarantee assistance for another sport.

• Families who have previously received a scholarship may apply again if they have a current financial need. Priority may be given to families who have not recently received assistance.

• Athletes receiving a scholarship are expected to participate in at least 75% of practices and games. Parents/guardians are expected to maintain communication with the coach and SPYA throughout the season.  If these expectations are not met, the athlete will not be eligible for another SPYA scholarship for a different sport until the next calendar year.

 • If approved, you will receive a coupon code to use during registration.

• If the scholarship code is not used by the provided deadline, the scholarship may be canceled and offered to another family.

Grades: PreK–6th Grade
Early Registration: Sept. 21–Oct. 20 | Late: Oct. 21–Nov. 4
Season: Nov. 9–Jan. 30
6 Game Minimum

Fees

PreK & K: $50 | 1st & 2nd Coed: $50
3rd & 4th Girls/Boys: $65 | 5th & 6th Girls/Boys: $65
Sibling Discount: $10 off each additional sibling

Equipment

Athletes should wear comfortable active clothing and athletic shoes. Team shirts are included.

Practices

Coaches will contact families after Nov. 5 with practice days and times. Practices begin the week of Nov. 9th and are generally 1–2 nights per week after 5:00 PM.

Practice schedules depend on coach and facility availability and are held at various Franklin Pierce schools. No school = no practice. No custodial coverage = no practice.

Coaches Needed- NO COACHES NO BASKETBALL

SPYA is a volunteer-run program, and coaches are needed to make basketball possible! 

Head coaches receive ONE FREE player registration for their athlete and can choose their preferred practice day and time, based on facility availability. Interested in coaching? Email spyarec@fpschools.org for a coaches code.
